The unveiling of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the successor to 2019’s FF7 Remake, was one of the biggest gaming surprises of last year. This game is a continuation of the story of Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa. It will be the second installment of a three-part story.
Even though it was only recently revealed, we know quite a deal about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. There’s even a clip depicting Cloud and Sephiroth walking side by side, as well as an estimated release date.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released in the winter of 2023. For the time being, this is all the information we have. The game was revealed on June 16, 2022, during the 25th anniversary live of Final Fantasy 7. More information will most likely be released in the coming months. I’ll be sure to update this page once new information become available.
So far, we’ve seen a brief reveal trailer and a release date. From the trailer, we see Zack will be carrying Cloud, and Sephiroth will be strolling alongside Cloud.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth appears to continue where the previous game left off. In general, the game will take place outside of Midgar, albeit that is all we know so far. When compared to the original game, the timeframe of FF7 Remake has already been dramatically altered. From here on out, it’s evident that Square Enix aims to portray a slightly different story, with Zack playing a significant role.
So far, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has only been revealed for the PlayStation 5. Given that it comes out next Winter and Sony has begun to phase out PS4 releases, it’s probable that it may be next-gen only. In terms of an Xbox Series X|S and PC release, they are likely to be staggered, as we saw with FF 7 Remake. The game was eventually released on PC, however it has yet to be released on Xbox. We’ll have to see if Square Enix follows a similar path with Rebirth.
